RIM to allow developers to access the native apps on BlackBerry 10
Many of us who have a BlackBerry PlayBook tablet which runs on the BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0.1(officially) which is an early version of the BlackBerry 10 were not liking that applications can’t control anything as Messaging and many others. Also that applications can’t run in background. Soon Research in Motion will be releasing many new APIs for developers in order to be able to get access into Messages, BBM, Calender, PIM apps, NFC, also Bluetooth!
List of APIs:
- BBM™
- PIM (Contacts, Calendar, Tasks, Notes)
- Messages/Email
- NFC
- Share/Invoke Framework
- Adding your menu item to an existing app
- Invoking and being invoked by another app
- String pattern registry
- Geocoding & reverse geocoding
- Bluetooth®
