Hello all,

As we promised before that we will do a comparison between the BlackBerry Internet Service provided by Etisalat, Vodafone and MobiNiL, we are talking about the Personal one not the Enterprise one, we “may” do a comparison for the enterprise users later once we collect more information because as all know, getting information about enterprise plans and prices is so hard.

Well, First we will kick off with Etisalat,

Etisalat is a great network, was officially started in the UAE and it’s the main telecommunication company there, providing both Landline and Mobile services, also ADSL and Directory just like EgyTelcom but providing Mobile services too and of course USB Modems just as we have at Egypt on Etisalat. Etisalat UAE later, started accepting to sell/rent the brand logo and name to other networks worldwide, one of the was Etisalat MISR which is branded to Etisalat UAE, using the same systems but different plans of course, however it is totally managed by Egyptians from within Egypt, so it’s an Egyptian telecom now. let’s get into the interesting points.

Etisalat MISR is providing 3 types of the BIS in Egypt, Social, Emails and Unlimited BIS

We would like to tell that Etisalat MISR is the only carrier in Egypt providing Unlimited BIS (Over BlackBerry.net* APN)

First, the Social Plan(As7aby), it provides Unlimited access to everything social as BBM, WLM, Y!M, AIM, Google Talk, Facebook and Twitter! it costs 1.99LE daily or 49LE monthly. it’s a great service for social users, who need nothing but chatting as it saves money.

Second, the Emails Plan(Emilaty), it provides Unlimited access 10 Email accounts, WLM, Y!M, Google Talk, AIM and BBM. It also costs 1.99LE daily or 49LE monthly, it’s great for Enterprise users that subscribe to the BIS on their own and care only about emails. and maybe some BBM as it saves also costs as Social plan.

Third, the strongest plan in Egypt, Unlimited BIS, while it may cost a lot compared to salaries in Egypt, however it’s the best service and still Etisalat provides it at competitive prices! BIS gets you Unlimited access over BlackBerry.Net* APN, Facebook, Twitter, 10 Emails, BBM, Y!M, WLM, Google talk, AIM, BlackBerry Protect, Browser and simply everything even 3rd party applications! It costs 4.50LE daily or 100LE monthly, we would recommend monthly to save costs, it will nearly save 50LE. a lot of people asks what does BlackBerry.NET means? It means it is the access point name/ gateway used by your BlackBerry to browser any website whatever it is, download files and simply everything. BlackBerry.NET APN includes everything on your BlackBerry but YOUTUBE and other similar video streaming sites! So access to Youtube Videos or any similar sites will cost you more (1LE per day for 5MB then 5LE per 1 MB)

Unfortunately Vodafone and MobiNiL provide no variety as Etisalat and also not Unlimited, however at the same costs as Etisalat which is insanely stupid. they both provide the BIS for 5LE daily, 100LE monthly (or 25LE weekly for MobiNiL). Now what is the difference between Vodafone and MobiNiL, Vodafone provides 5MB only if you paid daily(Same for MobiNiL), or 150MB if you paid monthly through prepaid(Same for MobiNiL), 200MB if you paid monthly through Postpaid.

So we would recommend Etisalat to all, Etisalat got the best, strongest and fastest coverage in Egypt, they also provide the cheapest call, sms rates and awesome promotions and at High quality too!

We hope that comparison was easy for you all to understand, if you got any question even if in Arabic, don’t forget to email us on [email protected] , follow us @BBerryEG

Thanks a lot!
